Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026
This policy explains what personal information PetsVisor collects, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

Who we are

PetsVisor (petsvisor.com) is a pet behavior, psychology, and care blog for pet owners.
The site is operated by Tanvir Rudro, based in Tampa, Florida. For the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation, we are the data controller for the information described below.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly
- Contact form: your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.
- Comments: your name, email address, website (if given), your comment text, your IP address, and your browser user agent string. WordPress stores this to help detect spam.
Information collected automatically
- Pages you visit, time spent on the site, referring website, approximate location (country or city level), device type, browser, and operating system.
- Your IP address. Under EU and UK law an IP address is personal data, so we treat it as such.
- Cookies and similar technologies set by us and by the third parties listed below.
We do not knowingly collect any special category data — health information, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, biometric data, or sexual orientation — and we ask that you do not send it to us.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

Where the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Replying to your message or comment — legitimate interests (running and moderating the site), or performance of a request you made.
- Spam prevention and site security — legitimate interests.
- Analytics and audience measurement — your consent, given through our cookie banner.
- Complying with legal obligations — legal obligation.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them for basic site function, to remember your cookie preferences, and — only with your consent — for analytics and affiliate tracking.
Non-essential cookies are not set until you accept them. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on this site, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Full detail is in our Cookie Policy: Cookie Policy

Third parties and embedded content

Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It sets cookies and processes your IP address and device information. You can opt out site-wide using Google's browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
Amazon Associates
We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you click an Amazon link on this site, Amazon may set cookies that let it attribute a resulting purchase to us. We never see your Amazon account details, your payment information, or what you personally bought — only anonymous, aggregated commission reports.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console, connected through the Site Kit by Google plugin, to see how our pages perform in Google search results. It does not set cookies on this site.
CookieYes
We use CookieYes to display our cookie banner and to record your consent choices. It stores a consent identifier and the categories you accepted or rejected.
WP Consent API
This WordPress component stores your consent choices in cookies on our own domain, so that other plugins on the site apply the same choice consistently.
Embedded YouTube videos
Some pages embed videos from our YouTube channel. YouTube (Google) may set cookies and collect data about your interaction with those videos, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
Pinterest
We publish content on Pinterest and receive traffic from it.
Gravatar
If you leave a comment, a hashed version of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to display your profile image.
Hosting
Our website is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server logs including IP addresses for security and reliability.
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy, and we recommend reading them.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not pass your details to anyone except the service providers listed above, or where we are legally required to.

How long we keep it

- Comments and their metadata: kept indefinitely so follow-up replies stay readable, unless you ask us to delete them.
- Contact form messages: kept for up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for 14 months.

International transfers

We are based in USA, and the services we use — Google, Amazon, Pinterest, and our host — process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data of EU or UK residents is transferred outside those regions, our providers rely on mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your data
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- Withdraw consent you previously gave, at any time
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
To exercise any of them, email contact@petsvisor.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
If you are in the EU or UK and you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

California residents

If you are a California resident, you have the rights described above, plus the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. As stated, we do not sell or share your personal information. To make a request, email contact@petsvisor.com

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU and UK). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption and keep our software updated. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we hold.

Links to other sites

Our articles link to external websites, including retailers. Once you leave petsvisor.com, this policy no longer applies, and we are not responsible for how those sites handle your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
